So Over It

How's everyone doing?  We are surviving.  My computer is dumping on me...  so I copied and then deleted a lot of files only to find out they did not copy in the first place.  I already emptied the 'trash'. So.  The stuff I have worked on for over a decade is gone.  The cloud helped me get back some - but not the most important stuff.  Computer professionals were of no help.  So I guess I'm starting over.  Kind of.

Snow came, making it difficult if not impossible for our girl to navigate her way outside to potty.  I shoveled and I shoveled and I shoveled till I had some pretty cool paths for her.  It was so sad watching her fall all over the place in snow that she couldn't even see.  Putting harness and leash on her helped.  That way I was able to lead her around and pull her from the snow she fell into.  I cannot even begin to put into words how badly I felt for the poor thing.

I tried to put a pic of Gary on - snow blowing the front of our place.  But my computer is still messed up and it refused.  I'm so over it all.  Ugh.  But we are good.  All is well.

Now.  How have you been?

Today's Reality

So...  this is the hotel we are leaning towards (Disney).  It's The Animal Kingdom hotel and you can watch the wildlife from your balcony.  I think the kids would love that!

That's great.  Means I can go hang out with the giraffes and deer while you guys take the cookie carriers to see the princesses and pirates

All dreams for next years vacation set aside...  let's focus on todays reality.

Yea.  I'm hungry.  I don't think you've fed me yet today.

Yes, we got snow.

Probably a good 8-10 inches.

Why is that that every time something different happens you see fit for a photo op with the dog?  I mean... really...  put me down, woman!

It is really pretty though.

Yea.  Pretty hard to find a place to pee.

My Not-So-Wonderful Walk

The day started out drab and dreary.  But, alas!  Good things were about to happen!

He didn't actually say the magic 'walk' word.  But.  He opened the front door for me to go outside.

The front door is only opened for me when I am going for a walk.  I was one happy pup!

But wait!

"Hey Dad!"  I said.  "Aren't you forgetting something?  What about my leash?  Aren't you afraid I'll run away?"

Something was different.  Very different.  There was bright, white, cold fluff trying to swallow me whole.  I was getting buried in it.

"Open the door!"  I yelled to mom.

"I'm comin' in!"

What? No Refund? Well That Doesn't Seem Right.

We have snow!

Of course we do!!

The last time we planned on going to visit Stacy and Vinnie In NJ and going to Atlantic City, Hurricane Irene kept us from going.  The hotel "Holiday Inn Express in Absecon, NJ" kindly gave us a refund on our reservation.  I think it was because they were evacuating.

This time, Jason (Gary's son) and his girlfriend were going to meet us there too.  Gary was so excited to be seeing his kids.  We had plans to go out to a really nice place for dinner, and then to the casino for a while.

This morning we woke up to snow, snow, snow.  We began our trip anyway, but turned around and came home.

The Holiday Inn Express said, "No way!  We cannot refund your money within 24 hours".

But what if it's not safe to be driving?
"No,  no refund for you!"

Humph!

Below you will see some video of my complaining husband and the conditions that we were driving in as we headed back home and sucked up the $55 for the rental car, $30 in gas to fill the rental car, and $99 for the room.

The music is compliments of a radio that
we never did quite figure out.

Ugh!

Doggie Depression

Dear Diary,

When I come in from outside, my feet are wet.  When I lick and bite at my paws mom yells, 'Gracie! Don't chew on your feet!'

Walks are a thing of the past for me.  All I do is sit at my window and watch the house.  Day in.  Day out.  Watch the house.

If I voice my concern when a stranger walks past the house...  there she is again...

 'Gracie! Stop barking!!'

Is it time for her to go back to work yet?

The skies are gray and icy rain is falling from the sky.

Doggie depression?  Heck no... not me.

I just wish I could find a place to pee.

Gracie.

Snow

Late yesterday afternoon the snow started coming down pretty heavy.  This is looking outside of our bedroom window.    The clothes line to the left is where Gracie runs when she goes out.  Last year when we had our 3 foot storm she didn't get very far...  only a small area where I shoveled.

This snow wasn't so bad.
Less than a foot.

But it was pretty.

I wonder if we'll get a whopper storm
this winter like last years.
