Throwback Thursday

My friend Heidi and I used to host sleepovers for some of the youth girls at church.  We would have the most fun!

First, we all changed our names.  My alias was BabsDawn.

We stayed up into the wee hours of the morning and the girls would usually talk me into a 3 AM trip to Walmart.

On one particular sleepover event the girls surprised me with a bridal shower.  They dressed me up and made me oh-so-pretty.....

And ....  Oh ... the crazy things they had me do!

And no, I did not get out of the 3 AM trip to Walmart.

Any fond Throwback memories for you Miss Gracie?

Ummm  yea...  the one day I had a perfect hair day...  back in '08, right after being groomed. I felt so pretty.

Smile... You're On Candid Camera

About last night

Christmastime... a time to reflect... a time for family... a time for practical jokes.

Three of the sisters and my son's fiance, Jess got together for some Password fun.  While my older sister went to the bathroom, we decided to quickly share the next four words, and put them onto our cell phones so we'd remember.  When she came back it was all we could do to contain ourselves and keep a straight face.

Me: "God"

pause

Jess: "Image"

high five

Me: "Are we good, or what?!"

Jess: "Citizen..."

Me: "senior"

Another high five

Me: "Train"

Jess: "Caboose"

high five - and a little irritation from the opposing team

You get the picture....

Sister Lynn was pretty impressed that Jess and I were were guessing the word from every clue.... especially since we were painfully losing before...    in the end we won the game.
Yes, I secretly recorded it.  No, I cannot share.  My sister would kill me!!

Something Crazy

When life gets too serious I have no choice...  I have to get a little crazy.

No, that's not Suzanne Sommers hopping into her T-Bird to impress the American Graffiti guys...  it's only me a few years back touring Universal Studios Theme Park in Florida.  Oh yeaaaaa....

Well what do you know about that.  Even Gary took his eyes of of his problems briefly.

Antique shops.  The smell of stale furniture, dusty books.... and hats that make me look so retro.

Allowing the kids from church to dress me up like a hussy and drag me through Wal-Mart at midnight during their 'surprise/sleepover/wedding shower' for me years ago.

Ok.  So that's not really Gary.  It's just a pillow case I decorated, stuffed, and placed in his chair when he was away so I wouldn't miss him so much.

I'm feeling the need to do something crazy again....

And Gracie is feeling the need to hide from me...

"Gracie...  Come on baby.  Mommy got you a new outfit."
