How Did I Live Without It?

Hello everyone!  I'm back for my weekly post (I've made Monday my day for bill paying and blog posting)

It's looking like spring here and I am loving it!

This past week we celebrated 2 birthdays.  Grand-Angel #1 turned 12 and we had movie night and an extended version of Easter with an egg hunt for Grand-Angel #4 who could not be here on Easter.  Oh, and did I mention I turned 64 a day later?  Yah.

There's a lot of drama going on here - business related and other - but I wish to speak life into all and focus strictly on the good stuff.  And speaking of good stuff - look at these beautiful faces.  God's love is just bursting out all over!!!

My birthday gifts included some wonderful scented candles, a heart felt personal journal, getting my car detailed, visits from the above angels AND....

A shirt I don't know how I lived without!!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY

I cannot begin to imagine God's pain to watch His Son suffer on the cross and then die.  I understand that He knew He'd be in heaven with him once he had breathed his last earthly breath.  But still.  It hurts to watch those you love suffer.

Yesterday we rejoiced in the fact that Jesus had risen and because of that (though we may see a lot of pain and suffering in our families today) we will share a perfect life with those we love and who share our love for God  - one day in Paradise.

I don't know about you, but after being beaten down by this fallen world of deception, and bad news, I am so looking forward to that day!!!!

Yesterday was filled with chaos, hope, fun, beauty, good food, surprises, and lots and lots of love.

These kids!!!  Be still my heart!!

I hope they always hold these special memories in their hearts....

Dear Diary,

I went on an Easter egg hunt and found an egg with beef jerky inside.  Dad had to help me open it.  I tried for the chocolate filled eggs but Mom the nag hollered GRACIE NO!  She is such a killjoy.  Gracie

I hope everyone had a fun filled, lovely, BLESSED Easter!

What We've Been Up To....

We recently hopped on over to Walmart to stock up on plastic Easter eggs and fillers for Sunday.  There will be lots and lots of colored surprise eggs for the kiddies to find.

Then it was off to the grocery store for some special treats for movie night.  We had a variety of  donuts, party mix, and popcorn flavored jelly beans.  This weeks presentation:  Bumblebee.  It's a transformers movie which I would generally steer clear of...  but for Jake (11 yr old GS) I said sure.  And to my surprise it was enjoyable.  Some humor and some heart with a lot of action (not a fan of the action).  I give it a 5/6 on my 1-10 scale and that's not bad.

Last week we celebrated National Pet Day by taking our pet to camp for the day.

Easy Gracie...  those wild boors are not intimidated by you...

Dear Diary,

National Pet Day won me a trip to the zoo  camp where I got to antagonize play with little pig little pig.  They were show offs if you ask me, dancing the piggly wiggly dance and causing mom and dad to think they're cute.  hmph.  Not as cute as the cockapoo.

Spring has Sprung

I had forgotten how much I love our walks.  Winter does that to you.  It puts you in a hunker-down mode and you hibernate for a while.  Pizza and a glass of wine.  A little binge watching a good Netflix series.  Early to bed with a good book.

Till spring.  And then, it's like the best thing ever to get out and breath in fresh air and get some exercise.

Now that I'm older I don't count on my next summer, fall, winter or spring.  Instead of taking these beautiful God given seasons for granted and assuming they will continue coming around forever, I savor them and thank the Lord for another year.

And a beautiful spring this is!  Last year we went directly from winter to summer and oh, how I missed these pretty pink flowers on the trees in front of our house!

And speaking of Summer...  a really sweet picture below.

I must admit, the chill stayed with us for quite a while this spring but finally - yes finally - spring has sprung and we are making the most of it.

Dear Diary,

Last week we went to camp.  Our walk there was long and wonderful - ahhh so many smells!  Next day was to the canal for another long walk.  Every time I turn around we are going for a walk.  And all the white stuff is gone, so peeing and pooping is as easy as 1-2-3.  Okay.  Tired now.  Excuse me while I take my cat dog nap.  Gracie.
