Mondays Mug: Z

Mondays Mug: Z

Scrabble anyone?  My sister gifted this mug to my hubby one year for Christmas.  I guess she was getting bored with winning all of the time and wanted to give him an advantage.
It's always good to know the z and x words.  Of course, you have to be lucky enough to draw those high-point letters to begin with.

On my new Samsung Mesmerize, I downloaded an app called Wordsmith.  I convinced Hub to join in and play along...  it's almost identical to Scrabble.   So now I have 'Words with Friends' going on with my sis in Annapolis, and 'Wordsmith' going on with Hub.

Ha!  I didn't know zarf was a word.

Mondays Mug: The Prayer of Jabez

Mondays Mug: The Prayer of Jabez

1 Chronicles 4:10   "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

Mondays Mug: Tweet, tweet

Mondays Mug: North Carolina

Passing through North Carolina en route to Florida a few years ago...

I just had to stop for a mug :)

What better time than now to tell you about the realistic singing bird from the Audubon Society that I found last year at a yard sale for a dollar. It tweeted and moved it's head... just like a real bird.  (Shhh... he didn't know about it)  It was just about the time Gary had decided he was going to take up bird watching as a hobby.  He put up bird feeders and I got him a book for his birthday so he would become educated on the different species of birds that his bird feeder was attracting.

I placed our little plastic friend on the bird feeder ledge outside of our bedroom window the next morning and waited.

Soon Gary called me into the bedroom.  "You have to see this!" He said.   I could hardly contain myself as he pointed out the petrified, singing bird that sat on the feeder refusing to fly away.

Our birdie friend found a permanent place on top of the kitchen cabinets guarding the mugs... so I thought I'd include him in todays post.

Mondays Mug: I Love Lucy

Mondays Mug: I Love Lucy

Who doesn't love Lucy?
Here we are in sunny Florida once again;
Universal Studios
the year, 2007

First an awesome stay in a romantic hotel
at St. Augustine Beach.
These little guys showed up for breakfast outside of our oceanfront room.

We visited the Titanic.  (Before it hit the iceberg and sank, of course)

I got my ticket,  (everyone received a ticket with a name of one of the passengers from the Titanic) and luckily I was one who survived in the end.  Whew....

Next to the Titanic was an upside down house.

 No autographs today please...

Here we found out how horror movies were made...

And it was pretty disgusting...

They demonstrated how animals were trained for TV and movies.

Okay,   Back to Lucy.  This is the model of The I Love Lucy set.

And this letter brought tears to my eyes.   A handwritten letter from Lucy to her mother on her birthday.
Which of us wouldn't want to give this gift to our mom?
(It's not too legible, but I typed the words below)

To Mother

What could I give you that would truly show how much I care?  I'm not nearly rich enough to buy the world and fill it with lilacs and snowmen and crackling fires and hundreds of sunny weekends with a hundred people waiting in line just to play scrabble and a "henna rinse" that never needs "retouching"!!  If I could I would build a special place like that and make everyone in it eternally youthful and call it Lucy Land for you to live in forever; and every day would be Christmas and every minute your birthday and you'd never have to ask for anything because it would be yours-always-from me which I'd have purchased with 'I Love You' Happy Birthday, Mom.

I guess even all of Lucy's money
 can't buy true happiness.

Have a Great Monday everyone.  And remember...only 4 more shopping days till Christmas.  Be safe.

Mondays Mug: The Love Mug

Hubby gifted me with this mug one year around Valentines day, and it's shaped like a heart.

The Love Mug

This mug makes a good Hot Chocolate mug!  Just add mini marshmallows, put in a good movie *It's a Wonderful Life,  recline in your comfy chair, and say 'aah'.

Just make sure someone in the room has a handful of marshmallow's to toss across the room for the dog or she won't leave you alone.

It's the perfect time of year to enjoy this wonderful mug.

Happy Monday everyone!
