Uncle Sam and Something Unusual

Spring is in the air.  I can see it.  I can feel it.  I can hear it.

Gracie and I have a lot on our minds these days.  I'll start first.

I'm considering cutting another day from my business 'hours' and only having the office opened from Monday through Wednesday.  All other days would be by appointment only.

Tax time came and went for me...  and I was taken aback by the humungous chunk of my hard earned money that the government stole took requested from me this year.  It left me deflated in my desire to work hard.  Sad, but true.

Don't get me wrong.  I love running my own business.  Being my own boss.  Doing things my way.  But I guess at my age slowing it down a bit is a positive and not a negative...

My creativity and enthusiasm was interrupted by Uncle Sam's unfair demands this year.   I should be elated that my business was so prosperous that I needed to pay so much $$ in taxes.  But.  Instead it left me feeling like the guy in the recent viral video who was drug off the plane screaming because he thought he was being treated unfairly.  Ha!  I believe there is more to that story than meets the eye... but you get the picture.

I am feeling much better from the FLU or whatever it was that I had.  Still, there are tests being run but I am confident that all's well.  Hopeful might be a better word.  And what about you, Gracie?

Well.  I am loving the spring walks.  The fresh air.  The going outside every five minutes to check out the yard.  What I'm not loving is the beep beep beep of the carbon monoxide detector that malfunctioned and scared the bageebies out of me the other day.  Nor am I loving the fact that you keep wanting to clean my ears and check my belly for who-knows-what.  Nor am I loving the fact that you freaked out because you found something unusual on my belly that you think Dr. Fox needs to look at and now I have to go see him next week.  So.  good and bad.  But we will focus on making you a better mom, and skipping the ear checks and dr visits.  That would make life so-much-more-enjoyable.   If that's okay with you.  mom.  k?

  1. The thing I am most concerned about is the thing on Gracie's belly. Be sure and let us know!! I can't imagine how high your taxes must be, maybe because you run your own business. They must really sock it to business owners. So glad you are feeling better! Isn't it nice to be able to set your own hours! I think you should make them whatever you want, and change them whenever you want! SO, with Easter coming up, I hope you have a big bone hunt all ready for Gracie.

  2. Gracie, your mom is just worried about you and wants to make sure you are healthy, so go with the flow and go and get checked out next week for that thing on your belly.

Bobbi, I agree with your thinking to reduce your business hours to only 3 days a week. Life is too short and taxes too high, so if you can get "by" on 3 days a week, go for it!

  3. Glad you are feeling better, take care to not relapse. Taxes are more when you own your own business, and then there is that SS bill, double what a working [for somebody else] Joe pays. It does bite. Maybe you have to put more money back so it isn't such a shock next year. I'm never thrilled with how much Uncle Sam gets for the pleasure ...
So, Gracie has a something. That's worrying, I hope it's just a false alarm.

  5. Gracie, your mommy loves you, that's why she's always checking you and makes you see the vet when she finds something. Samson has been sick, but he's better now and sends his love and ear kisses.

  6. April 18,
I apologize for not seeing your comment, on my "First Family" blog, until just now. I really apologize.

I get so few comments there, that I forget to look for comments waiting to be published. Which is no excuse! If I have a blog, I have to keep track of it. -sigh-

So belatedly, thank you so much for appreciating this blog.

Since you appreciate them, you know, that to say this, on the world wide net, is almost asking for SPAM and ugly comments. -sigh- I just know, that there are more people out there, like you and me... Who do appreciate them. And who are not delusional, in their following and believing the Main Stream Media's hate. -sigh-

So again, I apologize. Thank you so much for your comment and your view.

    Many gentle hugs,
    Luna Crone

  7. The effect of all those taxes, is counter to the Old American Dream, of working hard and getting ahead. And that is terrible. My hope is that The American Dream, will get a new lease-on-life, from the current Administration. If Congress will "put on their big girl/boy panties, and work with the POTUS.

Perhaps some of your malaise, is due to left over effects, of the Flu? That takes an awful lot out of our bodies, and when we don't feel well, we can get depressed. Hope you soon will be all free, of even the lingering effects of the "dreaded" Flu.

All winter, I wore a "surgical" mask, when grocery shopping. Trying to protect myself, from all the various germs floating around. Glad I did! :-)

As to Gracie, she just has to know that you have her welfare at heart. And you have to be vigilant, about her health.

    Many gentle Spring-time hugs,
    Luna Crone
