The Lost Cracker

I ordered a bassinet from Walmart.  Lindsey picked it up on Saturday.  Rissi's using it for Pinky (her bestest friend and stuffed bear) while waiting for her baby sister to arrive.

Rissie picked this nice rose from our yard and gave it to her mommy.
Lindsey forgot to take her rose home.  So now it's my rose.

Gracie begs, so Gary throws her a cracker.

It lands on her back.

And she searches for it.

as we laugh at with her.

Dear Diary,

Kept the mom and dad entertained for a bit...  They thought it was funny that I had a cracker on my back.  Hardy-har-har... Hey. I knew it was there the whole time. I could've reached around and grabbed that cracker if I had the mind to... but me... being the caring pet that I am (unlike some humans I know whom shall remain nameless), I left them have their fun and played along.  Gracie.

LOONEY TOONES

Before leaving for the Springs Festival yesterday, we went outside to 'decorate' our ear for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

What I am about to tell you is going to sound really strange and you may even change your opinion of me from
nice girl with nice blog
to
wacky woman with strange ways.

Okay.  Here goes.

A while back, I read a book called Running With Scissors and I thought it was funny.
 (Strange, already.. huh?)

The weird Psychologist who was one of the books main characters had this 'thing' where he thought...

If he did a bowel movement and it stood straight up, it meant the family was going to come into a lot of money.

Hey!  I didn't write the book, I just read it.

Anyhoo...

After reading this book and yes, I even watched the movie...

Just for fun - I started to predict our wealth by examining Gracie's poop after she was done doing her business.

If it was standing straight up - Monetary gain
was just around the corner.

You're doubting my mental state of mind about now... aren't you?  Well, let me just say that for every straight up poop I discovered (thank you, Gracie)...  we would somehow come into some money soon after.

Hey...  don't judge me.

So...  moving right along with my story....  as Gary was tying the pink ribbon around the ear, I saw a strange sight about a foot away from the ear.

At first...  I thought...  Gracie-girl!  Way to go!

We are going to be rich!

Below, you will see Ricky Raccoon watching for the Wagon.  You know...
"They're coming to take me away...
ho ho... hee hee.. haha... to the funny farm.."
Do you remember that song?

I did a quick pose for our decorated ear...

Then I showed Gary Gracie's poop.

He knew right away that it was some kind of mushroom.

And so I googled it, and sure enough...  I found something similar under Fungi photos.

There were other little ones growing around it.

Looking very strange..

 Mushrooms, eh?

So now its back to the drawing board.

Dear Diary,

Just when I think my mom can't get any more stranger... she does.  She's out back with a flashlight..  'poop, gracie' she says.  'and do it very slowly..  and don't move away too quickly'.
LOONY TOONES I'M TELLIN YA.  LOONEY TOONES>
Gracie.

Bee-utiful Day

It was one of those heavenly days and we were off to Springs Pa. for the Springs Folk Festival.  I'll have to admit..
Last years festival was better.

Why?  Two words.

Bees and heat.

One of my favorite things to do is stop at the many yard sales along the way.  My #1 mission today was to find a crib set for the new baby.   I purchased the sweetest crib set for just $3 at the very first yard sale.  Then the bees chased me to my car.

I found a very nice pack n play for $10 and a like-new car seat for $8.  And much more!   Yard-sale wise..
today was a big success!

We only stayed at the Festival long enough for me to get my favorite...  a slice of homemade bread with apple butter.  I traded the usual hot vegetable soup for homemade ice cream.

I pretend to be having fun, when really I was contemplating whether I should put my jacket back on and die of heat stroke, or let the bees have their way with me.

Gary had a burger and fries...

We made a bee-line for the car to get away from the bees.
Pun intended.

I don't suppose this is for me??
I guess it's all about the new baby now...  Whatever.
