Dear Summer

Dear Summer,

I know you're trying to say goodbye.  But I'm not wanting you to go.  I'll miss you.

I'll miss the warm ocean breeze and the angry waves stinging my legs...

I'll miss the crystal clear days and the happy sunshine that always made me feel so good...  Nobody does it quite like you, Summer.

I'll miss quiet times on high mountains...

And taking pictures of mysterious weeds during our nightly walk.

I'll  miss cute bare feet as they skip through green grass...

Oh, I know it's not time for you to leave just yet.  But your cool evenings and cooler mornings are indications that it won't be long.

So thanks for everything.  I will see you again next year,
 God willing.

Your friend,  Bobbi

To watch me beg-Click here. Gracie.

Dear Diary,

Today Mom brought out the baby book.  Geesh was I little.

She keeps saying that I only looked sweet and  innocent.  Whatever that means.  Well, all I know is... I sure had a time with her when I was young.  It took quite a while before she finally wised up and started to see things my way.  But still... she talks about what she calls my bad behavior as a pup.

She fails to mention how I took care of her the week she had the flu.  Nope.  Doesn't talk about my skipping meals and playtime just so I could watch after her.  I was worried.

Oh well.  I need to let bygones be bygones.  After all, she does buy oreo cookies now and again.  And speaking of oreos...  click on the link above to see what rediculous lengths I have to go to get one of those wonderful treats.

Outta here...   Gracie.

Yard Sale bargains but winding down....

Saturday's Yard Sale Haul:

Huge Christmas village   $10

They all have lights... I just wanted to try a few out.  There are hundreds of pieces to this...  Was I happy?  Yes.  I plan on an extravagant display for the grandkids this year thanks to my yard sale finds this year.

Brand new kitchen curtains.  4 full pair $3.  I'm not so sure I like the color, but for three bucks I thought I'd give it a try...  it's a change anyway.

Brand new comforter set from the Bon Ton complete w/ pillow shams and bedskirt.  $6

Not shown is a dresser for $10 and some odds and ends stuff like a Ken doll for Rissie's Barbie's.  The man dolls are hard to find.  I only paid 50 cents for him.

Anyway...  everything came to a grand total of $35.  Not bad.  The good part is, I never even had to get in my car since the yard sale was 2 houses away.

With summer out almost behind me, I'm trying to focus on my book.  My goal is mid October for 'Gracie's Diary' to be complete and ready to go.  I'm shooting for 10 pages a day.  Oh, it's finished now... at 76,000 words.  But it's not the best it can be yet.  Now to find the time....
