5 Guys and Waiting for Baby

As you can see by her Thanksgiving day picture...
Lindsey has not had our new grand-baby yet.

Waiting patiently...

While we're waiting, we decided to head to Hagerstown for dinner, a movie, and a little shopping.  We saw J. Edgar, then took a walk through the mall before going to 5 Guys for the best hamburger and fries ever!

I forgot my camera, so took a few quick phone shots.  Anyone who's ever eaten at 5 Guys knows how wonderful their hamburger and fries are.

It was a beautiful day!

The Thanksgiving Day Blues

Nothing fancy at our house.

Just paper tablecloths and yard sale decor.

A table set for the kiddies.
Well...  for just one kid in the end...

After a call from #1 son at the last minute saying they aren't coming but they're going to the fiancĂ©'s parents instead.

Honestly...
the only real respect I get anymore is from my dog...

...and that's only if I don't read her diary and find out what she's really thinking.

Hope you all had a great day of Thanksgiving.

not_gonna_happen

Dear Diary,
My place is beside mom on her chair.    Velcro-ed to her Sitting beside of her and keeping her company. I used to shy away and let Rissi have her lap when she was here.  But I hear tell that there will be another one of these little peeps coming soon and guess what?  More lap time taken away from me.  Uh uh!  Not gonna  happen.

"MOVE OVER RISSA...  I'M COMING UP!"

There.  That's better.

Oh.  back to you dear diary...  Anyway.  Today was T-Day.  I learned 2 things today.

1.  Beggin' for the T-bird all day makes a pup very tired.

2.  What they say about T-bird being a sleep aid is right on!

NIGHTY NITE!  GRACIE.

Give Me Cupcakes. Fast!

A few weeks ago I stumbled across
this at Bed Bath and Beyond.

It makes mini cupcakes in about 6 minutes.

Of course I had to get it... especially since my nickname for Rissi has always been Cupcake.

Saturday night, we used it for the first time.

Voila!

And cleaning the non-stick cupcake holders was a snap!
@ $30 this was well worth it!

But next time I think I'll divide my cake mix into thirds.
This was way too much cake for someone who is trying to stay away from cake (my favorite)!

Jesus. There's Something About that Name.

In spite of the many mistakes that I've made in my life...

God has been good.  I've been blessed.
 I attribute that to Grace.
Without God's Grace...
I can't imagine where I'd be right now.

With so many different religions, beliefs and views on life...  I am Thankful that mine is in Christianity.

I wasn't 'brought up' with 'religion' being high priority.  As a matter of fact, my parents would send us to Sunday School and Church without going themselves.

But I had a thirst for what life and death were all about.  I wanted to know...  where did I come from... how did I get here...  and where am I going after it's all over?

I've done research and studies...  even wrote every word from The Bible out in longhand...  looking for answers and wanting to understand.

There's so much I don't know.

As we celebrate this time of the year for giving thanks... I'd just like to take this time to thank
God for my Saviour, Christ the Lord.

Matthew 22:37-40

King James Version (KJV)

37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Gracie and I wish you all a beautiful and safe Thanksgiving...  Love  to all!

Mental Cruelty

Okay class.  Everybody needs to line up for lunch.
Buyers in the front... packers in the back.

Gracie, are you buying or did you bring a packed lunch?  Okay, then you can come to the front of the line.

Gracie, if you don't come to the front of the line I'm going to make you go to the principals office.

That's it.  You're in trouble for not following the rules like Rainbow, Charles, Samantha, Stephanie and Jewlana.

Dear Diary,

Ever since the Cookie Carrier's been in school she expects me to be one of her 'students' (whatever that is).  Isn't there some kind of mental cruelty law for pups like me to stand behind in cases like this?

 Ugh.

 Is she gone home yet>

  Maybe...

yes!

 Finally,  Rest.

Peep Psychology

Last year, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Ponderosa (Steak House) cooking for us.  It was very good!

This year...

Guess who's cooking?

Note to self:  Be sure and take Turkey
out of freezer to thaw.  Today!!

And What are you're plans for the coming week?

Dear Diary,

When you've been around as long as I have...  you learn peep psychology.  This is when you can decipher what your peeps aka mom and dad are really thinking.  Gracie, you're a pig means: Oh, look at how sweetly she drags her food into the living room to eat.  She is too smart to be a dog!  Gracie, why must you always be Velcro-ed to my side? means:  Is there any way you can get closer?  I love you so, my pet!  Gracie, you belong at the foot of the bed means: Do you have to sleep at the foot of the bed?  I'd sleep much better if you were here...  close to me.
Yep.  Got 'em figured out. Gracie.

What It Looks Like

This is what an expectant Grammy looks like.

This is what an expectant Mommy and Sister look like.

This is what a dog who is tired of curtain climbers
 invading her territory looks like.

An Embarrassment

Dear Diary,

Apparently I'm an embarrassment to you-know-who.   Lifting my leg to pee has become second nature to me and you-know-who says it's not lady-like.  I'm surprised that she's finding the time to take me for walks at all... what with all the painting she's supposed to be talking about doing and the book she's working on.   I've heard from a reliable source that she's found my old diary and it's being revealed inside the book for the sole purpose of bringing me to shame.  That's why I've decided to share this with you.

Shhh...  she mustn't know. Gracie.

Dear Diary,  I'm supposed to be painting, but I haven't even started.  I did get the paint bought... it's called Rainforest and I think it will look good in the living room, dining room and hall.  I'd love to slap that paint on and be done with it... but Gary refuses to let me paint till he gets the walls prepped.  He has not done this yet.  And so, no painting has taken place.  Maybe spring.
Gary just got a 50 inch TV for the efficiency apartment that is in back of our offices. We now call it the Consultants Lounge during the day and his Man Cave come evening and on weekends.  This is where I've been working on my book when we are not busy, and it is so relaxing.
No baby yet... but patiently waiting.
The other day when I was vacuuming the floor I thought I saw a spider and I screamed.  It kept jumping around, trying to get away...  but it turned out that it was only a piece of fuzz.  That's all for now.  bobbi.

MY BAD

Thank you, Veterans!

My sister, the school teacher, asked me to email her a picture of Dad for a Veterans Day wall her class was creating.  Here is the finished product.

I wish Dad were alive today so I could tell him how honored I am that he was my father.

Dad died at 53 years old.  Wow, that's young.
I miss him to this day.

A blink of an eye...  and you might miss it.
So don't blink!

Have a beautiful Veterans Day everyone...
And to all those who served...

THANK YOU!

Gracie and I are still chilling from Blogger but we hope to be back real soon.  I am tempted to just get in here and start seeing what you all have been up to...  but then one thing would lead to another and before you know it, I'd be hooked again and this painting would not get done and neither would my book.

Miss you all!  Will be back soon....

Taking a Break

I had one more 'late' Trick or Treater, my grandson Jake.  When it was time to go home, he told his parents to go ahead and leave...  he's staying with Grammy and Pop Pop.  LOL.

You gotta love 'em!

Well, it's that time of year again...  and Sunday we will turn our clocks back.  Not my favorite time of year, but this year is so much better than last year was at this time and I am so very thankful for everything.

every day.  every family member.  every friend.

 thankful!

Updates:

The new business:  Awesome!  The best move we ever made.  I am so happy with my work now.  We are busy, and the big wooden ear is well known in our area.  We do a lot of advertising, but word of mouth seems to be our best source of advertising.  Blessed!!

The new grand baby:  Should be here within the next month.  Mom and baby are healthy.

Gracie:   Aside from a flea now and again...  she's doing well... as feisty as ever.

My Memoir (book):  Coming along slowly.

Gracie and I have decided to take a blog break.  There are some things I need to work on but am procrastinating.  One of them is my book.

Hope you're all having a beautiful fall.  We'll see you soon!

Time

Is time going super fast... or is it just me?

They say the older you get, the faster time passes.

I'm not sure who 'they' are...  but if what 'they' say is true, then it'll be over before we know it.

Enjoy today!
