It Was Ugly and So Was I

I'm not sure what it is about this time of year,
but it seems I always come down with something.

Last year...

Swine flu.

Never confirmed, but 95% sure.
I'd never been so sick.
It was ugly and so was I.
I didn't go to work for a whole week.

Ha! How convenient that I took
this week as a vacation week!
I thought I'd cheated the fates.
I thought I was home-free.
No sick 4 me this year!!!

NOT!

It's my back.  Oh, my aching back.

Not just...  "ouch, my back hurts",
 more like

"oh my gosh, I may never walk again!"

But Gracie's taking care of me, so I'll be fine.

  1. I just about always get sick before Christmas, just a little early this year, think it must have to do with recirculated air and everybody's germs.

Had thought it was the dusty Christmas tree, LOL!

Sorry you are sick :( You look pretty darn good though!

  7. I am so sorry Bobbi - that's terrible while you are on vacation. There's nothing much better than puppy dog kisses/snuggles to make us feel better. Gracie, take good care of mommy.

  9. Oh my gosh, what happened? Did you pull your back, did it go out, it or are you coming down with something? I'm so sorry, and right on your vacation!! Can you change it to sick leave? Are you able to get around? Take meds, a heating pad! We have been sick for over two months now and Phil was diagnosed with a bacterial infection today, we've both had two rounds of anti-biotics, DIL and grandbaby both on ant-biotics as well! Everyone in town is sick!!

  12. Awe, thanks everyone. I wasn't really doing anything, just sitting at the office doing work on the computer and suddenly I noticed my back was hurting. Then it just kept getting worse... today it's a tad bit better. At least I can walk!
Ginny> So sorry you and Phil have been sick for so long, will keep you guys in my prayers.
I think everything I've 'tried' for my back has just made it worse. Usually the inversion table helps. But nope. Then I have a message chair that also usually helps. Nope. Just made it worse.

  14. Ice pack for ten minutes, then heat for ten, repeat if necessary. Works for us. Hope you get some comfort soon and with the help of Gracie, looks like sooner than later!
    Take care.

  15. Oh NO! Physical Therapy is my solution for any body problems. I love the results of PT. However, I am soo, sooo sorry for you being sick on vacation time. I am praying that doesn't happen to our family during our Christmas break.
