It's A Trust Issue

I have so much catching up to do.  I can't begin to tell you how much I've missed reading your blogs for the last couple of days.  Now that Gracie's home and things are settling I hope to be visiting you soon.

June 1 is just around the corner.  Oh, I wish I could share with you some of the things I've been doing in preparation.  But of course, I can't.  Not yet.
Oh - I can say that tonight I got some really good news.  Okay.  Time to zip my lip.  Sorry.

To all who commented on my last few blogs:

On Monday morning when I left the Animal Hospital  without Gracie, first I wiped the tears from my face, then I called Gary...  and the next thing I needed to do was blog.  Why?  Because I knew that there were a group of people here with huge hearts who really care and I knew I'd find comfort and support.  You didn't let me down.  Thank you for being my friend.

Dear Diary,

I was so glad to see Mom when she came to pick me up from the hospital.  She was glad to see me too.  For a minute.

But then...  "Gracie!  Don't bite the vet tech!!"  Hey, why not?
It's not like I trust her or anything.  She then asked mom to remove my generic collar and leash.

Then she asked mom if she'd remove the tape from my leg where I had my IV.  Yes.  You got it right.  I threatened anyone coming near my taped up leg.

Except for mom of course.  When we got home, she snipped it right off.

It's a trust issue....

And I'm having a real problem
with that right now. Gracie.

Surgery Again

I just got to work.. I'm having a real hard time to keep tears from falling.

Gracie hurt herself last week.  My sister had come in from Annapolis, and Gracie goes crazy with surprise visitors - she jumped from the chair, ran to the door and started yelping.  I knew something was wrong.  But then she seemed to get okay, but there was swelling and bruising.  Before then, her surgical site was doing so well

Today she went to get her sutures removed.  The outside looked good, but she has a hernia.  They kept her there and she goes back in for surgery today after noon.  I'm so so so so so so sad.

Happy Birthday Gary!

It's been a busy weekend so far.
Rissie spent the night on Friday.

And it was Barbies, bubbles, and faerie tales....

And a special treasure chest project with Pop Pop.

Then we had a table for 12 reserved at Warners German Restaurant.

To Celebrate Gary's 57th birthday which is today.

He didn't suspect that I ordered one of these scrumptious bee sting cakes (below) to be sent to our table at the conclusion of our meal.

Did you know that President John F. Kennedy used to order dozens of these cakes from this very restaurant to be flown to the White House for special dinners there?  At least...  that's what I was told.

Happy Birthday Gary!  It's your day.
