Hanging On

Last month around this time I kept my baby grandson Jasper for the first time.  He is 8 months old.  Jasper screamed at the top of his lungs for over 2 hours.  I felt helpless.  I had a horrible vertigo attack while trying to console him...  then I texted his parents and asked them to please come home.

Since that night, I have been suffering from ...  something...  I'm not sure what.  I've been dizzy or off balance almost every day.  I've been to the Med Express 3 times.  Anxiety - yep, that too.  Tired.  Lightheaded.  Headaches off and on.  Pressure in my head.   I can't seem to shake it and I don't know exactly what it is that has taken hold of me.

I have had a few 'good' days...  but then I go back to dizzy again.  My head feels like it is swimming sometimes.  I'm starting to think that I will never gain my balance again.  I thought it was allergies, so I purchased a room purifier (not izon) with heppa filter.  After the first night using it, I felt worse.

*sigh*

So my summer has been me...  Just hanging on.... LITERALLY!

I am thankful though, that I was well enough to make the trip with Gary to PA for his class reunion a couple weekends ago  and to NJ to visit our newest grand angel, Greyson.

Gary with his first grand baby on his side....

 How is Gracie you ask?

Well, when she's not wrestling with her alligator,
she's sleeping on it.

I hope YOU are enjoying your summer!

  1. Bobbi, we're sending you some extra prayers and hugs. You have just described the exact same symptoms that my husband is having right now. It's been happening for over a month now, and he has also made several trips to the doctor and the emergency room. He's scheduled for an MRI in September so we're hoping for some answers then.

I hope that you start feeling better soon so you can enjoy those grandkids.

Gracie...you take good care of Mommy.

  3. My hubby has vertigo so I know how awful it can be. There are some exercises you can do to help ease them a bit, if your doctor prescribes them. Hanging on is a sorry state of affairs to be sure. I hope you find some relief soon. That alligator looks comfy, GRACIE.

  6. This picture of Gracie is just precious! Gosh, now I'm wondering if Jasper did something to your ears...maybe the sound frequency or something. What is your next step, Bobbi? I am so glad you didn't have to stay home, and you made it to Pa., Gary looks so happy with his grand baby!

  9. It sounds like you have Vertigo. My Mom has this from time to time. The first med they gave her was oral and it didn't help, then they changed her to "the patch" and it worked like a charm. Just an idea of something you might check in to. What an awful summer, Bobbi. I'm so sorry and hope the docs can get you fixed up soon. You shouldn't have to live this way. ((HUGS))

  11. I am so sorry to hear this is happening to you. I know you know about EARS, so I am sure those have been checked out. I have a blogger friend who has something called Meyniers -- not the correct spelling, I'm sure, and she gets really sick with vertigo and dizziness. I don't know if you know about it. Anyhow, please follow up and get the proper exams, OK.

Samson Says: Oh, my Gracie, I have missed you so. You know what? I mostly sleep my days away too. On the cool and wonderful slate tile daddy installed for me (well mommy thinks it's for the house to look nice, but I know it's for ME) and in front of this huge fan. Let's just dream about each other, OK? XOXOXOXO, Your Samson ~ MISSING YOU

  13. Having experienced inner ear infections which caused me to not be able to walk straight, I sympathize with you. Praying you get this straightened out and life gets back to normal for you.

  16. Hello, dear Friend... So sorry to read that you've not been feeling well! I know my sinuses and inner ears cause me lots of pressure in my head, behind my eyes, and I get "as dizzy as a bessy bug"! LOL! I hope you find out what's ailing you soon! I am going to put you on our prayer list at church, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers, too. Gentle Hugs,
    Jenni
