A Very Golden New Year

Happy 2012 Everyone!  How did you celebrate?

We decided to treat ourselves to a night of fine dining, dancing, and beautiful views @ Rocky Gap Resort.

But midnight is way too late for this old geezer to be up...  Do I look tired?  LOL

Morning breakfast overlooking the lake...  then back  to Gracie who celebrated at home alone just 10 minutes from where we stayed.

Dear Diary,
Just got back from Miss Mindy's...  wowsie!  What a party.   Now I have to act sad... cause I know mom and dad will be home soon and they think I've been here all night sulking.

Let's see if I can put on my sad face.

There.  I think that'll do it.  Then it'll be 'let's pamper Gracie day' because they left me alone all night.

Or at least they think they did...  BOL!  Gracie.

Dear Diary,

It's me again.   My plan did not work.  Instead of feeling sorry for me...  they left me again.  This is mom's poor excuse for not taking me along:
'oh, i'm sorry gracie... but you don't get along well with other dogs.'  and then she went to visit my cousin Ginger.

Then all I hear about is how Ginger is golden and Ginger is a sweetheart and Ginger is  beautiful...

Ginger, Ginger, Ginger.
 Gin-Gin can do no wrong!

Whatever!  I'm a lap dog too.  But instead of inviting my presence on her lap she's always like 'Gracie, do you have to sit here now?  or Gracie...  you're getting in my way..'  etcetera.  etcetera.  You get the picture.  I don't see where my cousin is all that cute or special.  But hey...  what do I know.  Gracie.

  3. Your New Years celebration puts our quiet night at home to shame. You looked like you were having such a good time...I gotta say, Gracie rocks her New Years Eve hat!! And, yes, Ginger is a cutie too, but don't tell Gracie I said that. ;-)

  5. Happy New Year to you both, I loved hearing that someone stayed up late and had fun-our New Years Eve was quiet and we were asleep before eleven. As for Gracie, so glad she did o.k.-I can't imagine leaving a dog home alone and not coming back to something destroyed or piddled on.
You keep telling her what a beauty she is and just don't let Ginger share how pretty she is.
    Hugs today.

  9. MOL Gracie we did have fun down in FL with Miss Mindy.

Ok now it is just not right for your peeps to come home smelling of other K9s. OMC there should be about 10 demerits issued for this transgression and then come review time you should give Mom a very bad review.
Hugs from your BFFF Madi and remember what happened in FL stays in FL

  10. Samson Says: Happy New Year, Gracie! You will always be the most SPECIAL one to me. Those Goldens are so overrated. Ginger has nothing on you. I think you look very cute in that hat. And by now I think we both know what we can expect from our humans.....not much. Love, Samson

  13. Dinner and dancing, champagne and that view of the lake sounds like the perfect romantic, New Years getaway. Glad you two had a WONDERFUL time. You deserve it. My hubby and I had tickets to see a Las Vegas crooner belt out Frank Sinatra songs. It was FUN, even though I hobbled along with my cane. GRACIE looks like you rang in the New Year too. That hat was a dead giveaway. I have to confess as cute as you are, Gracie... Ginger is kind of sweet too. You should start the NEW year trying to get along.

  16. How fun to go out dancing to celebrate/welcome in the new year! Looks like and sounds like it was a fun evening! I'm sure Gracie had many a tale to tell if she would about her adventures when you weren't there. I do think if she would learn how to get along with other dogs, her social life might improve just a bit! Happy New Year to you and yours Bobbi!

  18. Love your Gracie. She and my Buddy would get along great. They're about the same size and color but he's shaggier. Happy New Year. We all snoozed though it.
