That's Just Wrong

On Monday our Franchisee owner came to spend some time in the office.  He's a high pressure sales person who swears he's not.  His ways go against everything I believe in.  I had to bite my lip and listen to all of his demands.

He made one lady cry by pressuring her into getting a hearing aid when she wasn't ready, then he wasn't even honest about what she could wear - trying to sell her a high end product.  That's just wrong. She canceled her order today.

This guy boasts of his Christianity often and that troubles me.   I don't mean to judge him, nor am I in the position to do so.  But there is something unsettling about watching the way some professed 'Christians' treats others.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

  2. You are right about that. I try to ask myself "What you Jesus do?"

  3. Oh gosh, what a bad position for you to be in!! Do you ever take anyone aside and set them straight, or are you loyal to your boss?? Did you say something to this lady? People who are older and losing their hearing or eyesight and other things often don't know what to do and depend on professionals to help them. To take advantage of them is awful!!

  4. You are totally right about this.

  5. How terrible. My brother is almost deaf due to radiation/chemo treatment and I would hate to think that someone like this man would be dishonest to him after all he has already been through.

  6. I am so very glad that lady did cancel her order - I do hope he didn't make any commission off that sale that didn't happen. A true Christian does not feel the need to go around claiming to be one - their actions do it for them and his actions are clearly not saying what he claims.

Shiloh would like to invite Gracie over to our blog tomorrow - Saturday, 3/26 - he is having a birthday party with the PawsBang Band "providing" the live entertainment. There will also be a give-away to the CSN stores. More info about that will be on the mornings blog post.

  7. Some people you just can't figure out. But I always say....what goes around, comes around.

  8. You are absolutely correct about that being so wrong on so many levels!!! I just hope you didn't lose that customer permanently. this just touched a nerve with me because I used to work with someone who professed strong christianity beliefs, but his own actions were NOT. That used to bother me a lot but then again, you're also right... not my place to judge. After all, religon is whatever you make of it, and each individual has their own view of the same thing.

Sending you happy warm fuzzy friendly thoughts--- banish that bad energy!!

  9. That is definitely so wrong. I always say we who call ourselves Christians need to be an ambassador for Jesus; we need to lead exemplary lives because the world is watching us indeed, whether we realize it or not, but the world is watching us. We need to represent Jesus honorably and make others want to come to know him. It is sad when we see others around us that profess a belief but don't live it.

  10. Oh that makes me angry, too....I think some people tend to leave their "Christianity" at the door of the Church as they walk out on Sunday...... But it is so comforting to remember that Jesus is NOT like that! How He cares for the infirm, ill, elderly, and for children...... actually, He's there WHEN EVER anyone needs Him....

Bobbi,You are an honest lady. I can tell from the various posts on this blog that you have principles. Good for You! The world needs more people like you so badly...

  11. Bobbi, I think you have every right to feel the way you do. It's OK in my book to call a 'spade a spade'. He sounds like a bully dressed in Christian robes!!

  13. Makes me sad to hear this! I really dislike high pressure sales peeps!

  14. Bobbi, I totally agree with you, and I think this bothers you because you're a person of honesty and integrity. This is also why I left the last dental practice I worked in--Trying to 'sell' patients something they didn't really need just because it would bring in more money is not what I'm about either.

  15. What's a shame is the unsaved world does not search the Scriptures to see Jesus but rather looks at Christians for the model of Jesus. Some people need to work on their witness for sure.

  16. I would dare say that it is not only a question of being Christian or not.

It is a matter of having dignity, decency and respect for the other human beings. He will get old one day and will probably be bitter and nasty, always aggressively on guard, judging others as he once was: dishonest!

I am sorry you have to deal with people like this.

  17. So so true... this is why people have to look to Christ, not to other people (unless they are a saints... like St. Nicholas :) )
I just posted about Edward - he's doing much much better, Praise God!
    Blessings!

  18. Sadly, there are many in our society who profess to be Christians but there life does not match there profession. The Bible calls them tares among the wheat :-( God will eventually deal with them.

  19. Oh Bobbi, he sounds like a monster!... I don't think I would have been able to bite my tongue, especially when he made that lady cry... I always hurt for others when they cry and I think I would have smacked the guy!... I know God will deal with him, in time, but for now I would have!... xoxo Julie Marie

  20. Sorry you have to deal with a guy like this. Maybe somehow your positive example will rub off on him.

  21. What a sad situation! It's terrible that you had to see it. I think there are a lot of professed Christians out there that act like they shouldn't. I love this saying:

"You take care of the sheep. God will take care of the wolves."

It's a great reminder to me when I see something I don't like.
