It's Not Time Yet

Hubby's sick, so I made Chicken noodle soup.  The best I ever made thanks to the Rainbow cookware that I picked up at a yard sale this summer.  This cookware is hard to find, and the last time I checked on Ebay the lids were going for over $30 and they weren't even new.  This cookware was new in the box and I got it all for $20.

Cooking on high is a no-no with this cookware.  You start cooking on medium heat, and turn it to low when steam begins to escape...  then the lid seals and the food cooks leaving all of the flavor & vitamins inside.

The flavor is out of this world good!!

A few days ago Hubby gave me this cute
 card in honor of us
not being able to go on
a real vacation last year....

And today I got something in the mail.

Oh, I do wish I could tell you what it is.

But it's not time yet.

Dear Diary,

I'm just about finished my peanut butter chew bone from The Three Dog Bakery.  Mom says I'm not supposed to eat chew bones - I'm supposed to chew on them.
What planet is she from?
Chew - eat... what's the difference?
Now that Mom's feeling better, Dad's sick. The flu? A cold?  I'm not sure.  They're tossing a lot of words like that around. I had to keep checking on him today to make sure he was okay.
A dogs work is never done.  Gracie.

  3. We have the same cookware - - by the name of Towncraft. You are right about the flavors being magnificent when cooked in these pans.
So sorry about the hubby's sickness. That very nasty upper respiratory virus is making the rounds down here, too. It is very close to the flu and there is one similar that IS the flu - - the strain that was NOT covered in this year's flu vaccine!

  5. Gracie, your nursing duties have you just plum tuckered out!!! I really do want to see what's in that package, though! Do you think It's a Valentine for YOU, Gracie? It looks bone shaped! Hey, how about you drag it over here in front of the computer screen and tear it open? Being very careful not to alert mommy and daddy, of course! I remember that cookware! I only ever saw it on T.V. and it was expensive!! Food cooked in it's own steam. What a find!!!

  6. Oh, I wish I could find "finds" like that, never do! I sure could use some new stuff, seems like all I have left is odd stuff. That soups looks like my kind of food! I hope Gary gets well, really quick and doesn't give it to you!

Gracie, you have to help your Mommy and Daddy and make sure they don't do any kissy face for a while or you will have to nurse both of them at the same time!

  10. We have a similar set of cookware that we brought from Brazil (!!) years ago. Ours is from "Amway" (yes, they are in Brazil too!) and it cost me a big chunk of money back then.

What is in that package?... I am so curious!
    Love ya!

  15. Bobbi,
I am glad you are feeling well, and hope hubby is on the mend very soon. I'm still trying to recover from the crud and now my son is not feeling well so I certainly hope our track out gives us the rest to get well.
My husband would love the cookwear; he's in the hunt for a new set and just can't decide...I thought I might mention it to him until you mentioned the price; EEGADS!
