Stay Away From The Malls!

Warning!!!!

If you want to see the true meaning (spirit) of Christmas:
Stay away from the malls!

I was going to tell you of a few horror stories that I beheld today.  But I just don't have the heart.
Let's instead focus on good.  Remember, I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff.

Marissa and her mommy came to help bake cookies and in between batches we watched the train whiz around the track carrying Santa, some children, a snowman, and a deer.

We watched ice skaters on the colorful fiber-optic pond, gently gliding back and forth.

We baked and we baked and we baked.

And the results were good.

  2. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have had to go shopping two days in a row (not today) and I agree - nothing but horror in the stores and shops. I will have to go again tomorrow and get DH's phone repaired (Our plan is a senior plan and I am the senior), if we can just go and come straight back home, I will be thrilled!

You found the best thing to do! Baking cookies together is just a wonderful idea!

  5. I haven't been to a mall in years. Nothing but teen stores, noise and greasy food. On that note, I hear some people love to shop at the mall on Christmas Eve, but I prefer to spend the week before Christmas doing good things, relaxing things, family things. No hustle and bustle there. Just lots of love.

  7. I've got to make one more trip to Walmart tomorrow - so not looking forward to it but it has to be done. Hopefully I can get in and out quickly if I go early enough. Time will tell.

I just know your granddaughter had the best time baking and playing today.

There are no malls around here! And I am not complaining.

    Have a wonderful Chrismas!

  12. And this is what makes Christmas fun - - - celebrating it with the children - - - and avoiding the crowds just as you said.
