This Thanksgiving was quiet.
Our usual full house was empty, with just a shivering pup under an electric blanket.
"Ugh! This hairdo is not cutting it. I'm freeeezing." |
We met a few family members at the Ponderosa; oh how I appreciate the Ponderosa for cooking a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for us to enjoy!
We sat at a table in the back and it was nice.

Me: Happy Thanksgiving, Marissa.
Marissa: (excited and even shaking) Grammy, tomorrow Santa is going to sneak into my house and hide presents for me under the Christmas tree.
Me: Umm, I think Mommy meant next month... after Thanksgiving Rissie.
She told Santa over and over again, "please bring me a Bouncing Baby Babbles..."
And then the real Santa showed up...
"Santa, can you bring me a bouncing baby babbles?"
Her conversation with Santa was priceless! She gave him a big hug before he went to have his dinner at the back of the restaurant.

It was a good day. A quiet day.
A very quiet day for us, too. Poor Gracie, you need to keep a coat on her now till her fur grows back. What cute photos with Santa!! We have two 4 year old girls in our life, but still have not heard of Bouncing Baby Babbles, how has that escaped me? But the name is hilarious! Something tells me that she will find that baby under the tree!! Glad you had such a nice day!!
ReplyDeleteSounds Great! Did you order a take out plate for "left overs"?
ReplyDeleteMarissa and Santa.... Priceless!
Guess maybe Gracie needs a winter jacket! Poor Baby!
Glad you had a great day!

Oh what cute photos. Poor Gracie's cold with her new short hairstyle! Marissa is precious and that's a great-looking Santa - how sweet! You look beautiful with you son and I am glad you had a quiet and good meal prepared by someone else. We ate out also today.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice day... your little granddaughter is adorable! And little Gracie is just too cute snuggled in her blankie... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteGinny, Bouncing Baby Babbles is an annoying little doll that jumps up and down in a cardboard crib and squeals and giggles. And yes, Grammy and pop pop went straight to walmart to pick up the pain-in-the-neck doll so she'd be sure and have it under her tree. That thing squealed and jumped up and down all the way through the store, all the way home until I finally found the off switch. Now let my daughter deal with it after Christmas LOL> karma. love it!
ReplyDeleteSharon> Didn't order a take-out plate because it's a buffet and they're pretty strict about not taking food home w/ you. I was determined to bring Gracie home some turkey though, and brought a tupperware container, hidden in my purse and quickly dumped some in while the waitress was not looking. I tried to keep my back to the camera's as well... they didn't stop me on the way out the door so I guess I was safe.
Sounds like a nice Thanksgiving!! Our usual family gathering fell through...so hubby and I are just now heading out to turkey dinner at a nice little bay-side grill. It will be a quiet one for us as well :)
ReplyDeleteHugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

I read your comments; thanks for explaining what
ReplyDeletea Bouncing Baby Babbles is. I think I would have done the same thing (go and buy it earlier than later, just in case it is something that everyone wants this year!)
sounds like a very nice Thanksgiving! I think going out and celebrating it a restaurant is fun to do, saves lots of time of cooking and no clean up :)
Happy Tnanksgiving!
