It's a beautiful thing. Watching the grand-angels enjoy the Christmas village one last time before putting it away for the year.
Next year the plan will be to get them involved in putting it up and taking it down. It's a lot of work. We're all getting older, which means they are becoming more able and I, less.
YIKES!
I was thinking a night of pizza, ice cream and hard work. We'll see how that goes...
Today we have ice. Lots and lots of ice.
And one angry ape!
My daughter has always loved my mother's Christmas village since she was a toddler and now at 12 she helps her put it up and take it down. It's a lovely tradition.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I don't know why I didn't think of this before.. I know they will enjoy doing it.
DeleteHilarious! And the ice on the red leaves is so pretty. Is there an out of the way place somewhere in your house where you can set the village up, and just leave it there? Cover it with a tarp or something and don't tell the kids?
ReplyDeleteNah, Ginny we don't even have closet space yet alone a place for the village. Besides, It loses it's magic if its up for too long.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for all of you getting to enjoy the Christmas Village to end the season. Something to look forward to next year.
ReplyDeleteOh they will love helping next year😉 Enjoy your day. Hope the ice melts soon! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud as I scrolled down to the gorilla with ice. lol You are right - he doesn't look happy. Hope spring comes soon for all of us. It's raining here 2 to 3 inches. I think our temps begin to moderate 50 ish for highs next week.
ReplyDeleteI really likes your blog! You have shared the whole concept really well and very beautifully soulful read! Thanks for sharing.
