Gary's Garden

Gary is excited!

His garden is flourishing and he has
harvested his first 3 green beans!

We've had zucchini bread, fried zucchini, steamed zucchini, zucchini casserole, grilled zucchini, and today....

 Zucchini brownies!

Vegetables have never tasted so good!!

The garden was planted at the beginning of summer, Gary's project with his estranged daughter who was back in his life at that time.  Watching the garden grow would be symbolic of their relationship...

It was to be a time of healing...

Working on their garden together...

Working on their relationship together....

But life is funny.

Some things are just not meant to be.

And we have to let go...

And then there is peace, healing, and growth.

  1. Peace, healing, and GREAT NUTRITION to aid in the growth!!! Phenomenal looking garden. He grew it and you cooked it. Good team! What does Gracie think of zucchini?

  4. Yummy veggies right out of the yard, none taste better:) I am sorry about the daughter not being there to share in it, BUT I know that Gary is enjoying the harvest! Perhaps that is God's way of healing for him! Have a blessed day dear Bobbi, HUGS!

  6. Hi Bobbi, Loved seeing the garden and hearing of its abundance. Your lives are bearing fruit and I know that eventually you will reap more-especially with Gary's daughter.

  7. Something may still grow in their future relationship as the child grows up and matures. Hopefully, she will not be too damaged. For now though, you are so right, letting go is the right thing to do. Harvesting veggies that you grew yourself is truly one of the most healing and rewarding things one can do in life.

  8. I agree with the other comments--While they won't enjoy 'this harvest' I have a feeling that in time there will be another!!

  12. Such promise for the two of them back when the garden was planted. I wonder if she reads your blog, so she can see the fruits/veggies of your hubby's and her labor? A victory garden for one small moment in time. ENJOY all that fresh produce. NEVER heard of zucchini brownies. THEY look scrumptious.
