BANKRUPT and BUSY!!

my summer.  by bobbi phillip.

spring/summer started kindly.   reuniting gary with his estranged daughter was a perfect way to begin.  shortly after, however, during her stay with us... we found she was a poser. she left. we survived. life goes on.

summer.  hot and stormy.  very busy.

hub. filed 4 bankruptcy on the cards he used to try to save his daughter via lawyers, basement psychologist 4 daughter, and enormous child support. now it's finished.  glad that's over with.  he has had impeccable credit all his life.  how sad, what has happened.

which brings me to my book.  sigh.  it is done being edited, and gary and i are both going over it again, then it will be sent for publication.   it's keeping us very busy.

july turned out to be the best month 'business-wise' that we have had so far at 'all about hearing'.  wow!  word is getting out.

gary's mom will be up next week to stay in our guest apartment for a week.  looking forward to that.

there is a reason i save my vacation time for summers end.
1. it's cooler.  2.  it gives me something to look forward to :-)

in a few weeks it will be vacation at the beach with the kids and the grandkids.  i'm so excited!

then a few weeks after that it is hub's (my stepdaughter) wedding on the beach.  another vacation for us where we celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.  yay!

i'm a weight watchers drop out.

honestly, i tried so hard and i  was going nowhere.  eating better makes me feel good though.  and i am still watching and refuse to be down....

oh, and did i mention i'm going to be a grammy again?  today i found out it will be a boy.   jake will have a baby brother come january.  excited!

MY COOKIE.  BY GRACIE PHILLIP

I WAS GIVEN A COOKIE,
DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
SO I HID IT UNDER A RUG,
AWAY FROM YOU.

WHEN THAT DIDN'T WORK,
I BURIED IT UNDER THE CHAIR.
BUT YOU SOON FOUND IT,
SO I THOUGHT, 'NOW, WHERE'?

I DUG AND I NUDGED,
WITH MY PAWS AND MY NOSE.
I HEARD YOU YELL "GRACIE!"
AND THEN... I FROZE.

"DON'T BURY THAT COOKIE!"
YOU SAID, MAKING A SCENE.
THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED,
THE NAG MOM IS QUITE MEAN!

SO THIS LEAVES ME TO SULK,
AND WONDER... IN DESPAIR.
WHERE CAN I HIDE MY COOKIE?
WHERE?  OH WHERE?   OH WHERE?

  1. "In your TUMMY Gracie. Hide the cookie in your tummy. EAT IT." I am so ready for autumn. We have had no vacation as of yet, just day trips here and there. ENJOY the beach, every moment of it. Congrats on the new grandbaby on the way. Good Luck with the book proofreading and editing. Take care.

  8. I'm not sure what a poser means. I'll look it up! And Gracie... hide that cookie in your belly! :)

  9. From what I gather, a poser is someone who is fake and acts a certain way so they will fit in or get what they want. .. I'm pretty sure she was using us so that she could get a car... shortly after she left here, she cut off all communication so I'm assuming we were used. Sad that her father's feelings didn't matter at all.

  10. But she never did get the car... and never will.

  12. Hi there, Like all the other comments above, I am so sorry about the con your hubby's daughter played on you-at least she didn't get more than she did. Eventually she will get caught or be taken advantage of.
Praying the rest of the month can be low key and relaxing. The beach-you lucky gal you.
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs, Noreen

  14. So sorry for the rough few months. Life does seem feast or famine with problems at times. Hopefully your hubby's action with the cards won't affect your business? Praise God that your business is doing so very, very well.
About Gracie's cookie - - - we have had dogs who have tried to dig a hole in furniture/carpet, too. They just don't understand that in order to live in luxury, they must not destroy luxury!

  19. I have known teenage posers and they are usually deeply disturbed young people. My friend adopted a child who was 11 and a poser. It was very difficult for a very long time. Finally, this girl is now in her 30s and things seem to have worked out OK. I feel for you both. But I'm also so glad you have so many positive things going on.
Samson Says: About time mommy went here so I can visit with you, Gracie. Everyone's advice is correct. In to the tummy goes the cookie. With all these humans around, you know there's no safer place. And you do look so adorable snoozing. XOXO, your Samson
