Where We Live

I don't think this Peeping Tom was actually looking in our window to see us.  Our windows are tinted and we can see out but if someone looks in it would be like looking into a mirror.  Often birds will fly into the window thinking it's not a window.

So I guess this guy was looking at himself.

Yesterday we decided to do something a little different.
About ten minutes from where we live is a historical site called canal place.  The draw for me is the towpath there.

There, we can walk the dog and we can
 enjoy nature.

Gracie was not impressed at all with this replica
of the canal boat ~ THE CUMBERLAND.

But she did find the residents of Canal Place
quite interesting..

And just because she owns me, she thinks she owns everyone and everything...

But Timmy Turtle was not impressed.

First he yawned... then he rolled his eyes...  then he retreated back into the place he calls home.

You'd think living so close that we'd come here more often.  It's beautiful.

But you know how it is.  We get so caught up in our routine walks around the neighborhood that we forget about the little paradise's  just minutes away...

As the sky began to fade to dark, we headed for home.

 Satisfied.  But tired.

  1. That's a cute last picture! Wonder who's more tired, Gary or Gracie? Gosh, this place is beautiful, I would LIVE there!! Beautiful shot of the moon!

  2. Amazing that you never mentioned this place before - it beautiful! I like the sundown shot with the spires in the sky! Nice shot!

  3. Twin tongues! Funny!!! It is a gorgeous place - -- but when you are home, it's just one more thing to do - - - get back into the car and go somewhere. But wait, you are home all the time now with no commute!!!

  4. Wonderful pictures and stories. Gracie is a mess isn't she? lol \

  5. As always, your blog is a breath of fresh air and a smile! I just walked in the door from the hospital.. (Grandmother broke her hip today!) and thought I'd blog hop a few moments before heading to beddy bye....

Thanks, I needed that! Especially the two twin tongues... hehehe

  6. BOL! Mom sticks her tongue out like me too! Nice place for a walk! Puppy kisses, Miss Mindy

  7. What a beautiful place and a big plus that it's so close.

    PeeS....Loved dat last foto! BOL

  8. I must say I'm surprised Gracie didn't have a diary entry about her meeting with Timmy.

  9. What a fun day and a beautiful place to visit! Loved Gracie and Timmy's encounter, hehe! Last picture with the hanging out tongues is precious:) Have a blessed day dear Bobbi, HUGS!

  10. Hi Bobbi, Your photos are just beautiful! The sunset pics especially and of course, I laughed at the last photo!!!

  11. Great Photos! The twins in the last one look like they both need a big drink of ice cold water :-)

  12. What a great post and lovely walking trail in your neighborhood.
I'd have to go there every day..well that is when it isn't
100+ degrees. Gracie you Dad are looking pretty cute at the end.
    Hugs Madi

  13. Hello Bobbi and Gracie! I'm late getting here, but wanted to stop by and let you know that I'm thinking of you!! What a beautiful walk, and I hope you'll enjoy one today if your weather is as nice as ours is on this side of the Potomac!

  14. That does look like a beautiful place! There is a really pretty lake with a walking trail near where we live. We keep saying we are going to go and never do.
